Socio-Demographic Factors Influencing the Use of Assistive Technology among Children with Disabilities in Malawi

This paper aims to address the information gap on influence of socio-demographic factors access and utilization Assistive Technology (AT) among children with disabilities in Malawi. Thus, it contributes towards realization recommendations UN Convention Rights Persons development a framework for creating an effective national AT policy. The used two statistically matched datasets, namely, 2017 survey Living conditions persons Malawi 2015-16 Demographic Health survey. Logistic regression structural equation modeling techniques were utilized assess use disabilities. results indicate that there is high level unmet need young aged 2 9 those living urban areas. further multiple have lower odds (OR = 0.924) using personal mobility compared single functional difficulty.
